La visión a largo plazo del Women’s Advocacy Council es eliminar la desigualdad de género en las esferas públicas y privadas.

De las 26 ciudades principales de Canadá, Barrie, Ontario, fue clasificada como la peor ciudad para ser mujer en 2019

A partir de este informe, el Refugio para Mujeres y Niños de Barrie presentó a Mujeres y la Igualdad de Género Canada una propuesta para la creación del Consejo de Defensa de la Mujer. En el otoño de 2019 comenzó a formarse el Consejo de Defensa de las Mujeres.

Nuestro objetivo

Abogar por el avance, aumentar las oportunidades, la igualdad y las libertades para todas las mujeres y niñas a través del movimiento social, la concientización y el activismo democrático. Liderar iniciativas para cerrar las brechas de género de mujeres y niñas en Barrie y áreas circundantes. El Consejo promoverá cambios cuantificables, sostenibles y positivos en la situación de la mujer en Ontario.

Effective July 19, 2021 the OCJ will resume accepting applications for s. 810 Criminal Code peace bonds province-wide. It has a new remote application process so that you may not be required to attend in person to start a peace bond application.
